Stamped Clay Wall

The Clay wall was engineered, built, and installed by Lehm AG (https://lehmag.ch/projekt/efh-preno-2021-2022/). We gave the challenge to the company not only to produce a wall that needs to carry the weight of the house, but needs to have colors. I must say, they did a pretty good job. The idea was to produce the wall in situ. Unfortunately the clay found after digging was too fatty. Therefore, the clay wall was built in their factory and brought to us after the drying process was completed. The challenges we faced with the installation was the amount of rain and wind in April-May 2022. We needed to protect the wall at any cost. There was a great deal of love that went into that wall.

Shell

The shell of house was build in massiv wood. It was a pre-fabricated house built by Steiner Holzbau (https://www.steinerholzbau.ch/). It was simply impressive to see how fast the full house was mounted.

The mounting of the wall took 1 day per floor, and the wall itself took 3 to 4 days.

Do to the rain, each floor had to be cover with Siga Wetguard. Despite being a plastic cover, it needed to be used to protect the wood from the water.

The whole shell of the house was built in about a month.
